I was originally going to name him Ferrous Fenris (Red Wolf) but I wrote the wrong thing on the dragonside AB post, and I liked it.

Ah yes! So, about 20% of the Snow Lupes lack the "downunder" gene that gives them that familiar husky pattern. Instead they are a solid color. They have the recessive form of the gene, as do most other breeds. They are the opposite of the pure white Snow Lupes which can be distinguished from regular white by their pink noses.
The Snow Lupe is one of the uncommon tundra lupines.

My new gryphs have arrived and of course that means some photos to share! This fellow is my Armored Tree Dweller-- Think he looks like a boy to me for some reason! He's blue (rryyBb) and has spines. Haven't named him yet, though! This next fellow is my favorite (shhh.) He's a common Tundra Lupine, another Blue. (rryyBb) But he carries Dilute xx and Dominant Black, Xx! Such a cute face, awww. I love his little face. Handsome fellow!

Adorable, Kardi! Love the coloring on the Tree Dweller...looks like swirls or stripes (at least from the picture).

Dilute, Dominant Black AND Sable? He's got all the fancy genes, doesn't he?

A few of the tundra lupines have lots of mutations, dominant black is very common and will be the base for easily breeding some more natural colors.
